What is happening?

Public Notices
(d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc;
(e) revoke the disabled persons parking places at the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
3. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Orders would be to shorten in length existing permit only parking places to facilitate the introduction of disabled persons parking place in certain roads.
4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which show the exact lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.
5. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX, or alternatively e-mail trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/DPPP74, no later than 17 October 2025.

BODNANT GARDENS, SW20; the north side, from the common boundary of Nos. 50 and 51 Bodnant Gardens, eastward for a distance of 6.6 metres.
HILLCROSS AVENUE, SM4; the south-east side, from a point 1.7 metres south-west of the north-easternmost flank wall of No. 223 Hillcross Avenue, south-westward for a distance of 6.6 metres.
STATION ROAD, KT3; the south-east side, from a point 4.5 metres south-west of the south-westernmost flank wall of Seoul House, south-westward for a distance of 6.6 metres.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(RIDGWAY PLACE, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 7)
ORDER 2025
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane lifts in Ridgway Place, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works, no person will -
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Ridgway Place, from a point 5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 53 and 55 Ridgway Place to a point 5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 43 and 45 Ridgway Place; or
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Ridgway Place; or
(c) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed by way of one of more of the following roads:– Ridgway, Murray Road, Spencer Hill, Worple Road and Wimbledon Hill Road.
6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.
7. Public Right of Way No. 26 will remain accessible during the works.
8. Nothing in the Order will apply to: –
(a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;
(e) any person so as to prevent their access to any property adjacent to the prohibited footway or length of footway specified in sub-paragraph 2(c) above.
9. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
10. The Order will come into operation at Thursday 2nd October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed that day, with Thursday 9th October 2025 and Thursday 16th October 2025 scheduled as back-up dates. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(WESTERN ROAD AND HEYFORD ROAD, MITCHAM)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate new water connection works in Western Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road and in Heyford Road.
2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:
(a) Western Road, both sides, between its junction with Lewis Road and a point 4 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 93 and 95 Western Road;
(b) Heyford Road, both sides, between its junction with Western Road and the south-western boundary of No. 1 Heyford Road.
3. Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works in Western Road.
4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: –
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
7. The Order will come into operation on Monday 6th October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 9th October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 12 months should further works be required.

(WOODLAND WAY, MORDEN)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate lead water supply replacement works in Woodland Way, Morden; they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:–
(a) enter or proceed in Woodland Way, from the north-eastern boundary of No. 2 Woodland Way to the south-western boundary of No. 4 Woodland Way;
(b) wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Arundel Avenue, Hillcross Avenue and Ashridge Way or vice versa.
6. Nothing in the Order will apply to: –
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
8. The Order will come into operation on Tuesday 7 October 2025 and the works are anticipated to be completed by Monday 13 October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.
