Various Roads, Sutton In Ashfield And Kirkby In Ashfield - Prohibited From Waiting, Loading And Unloading (Both Sides) (At All Times)
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD AND KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025 (A25-134)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Sutton in Ashfield and Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
b. Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield to its junction with Observatory Way
c. Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield for a distance of 100 metres in a westerly direction
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
b. Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield to its junction with Observatory Way
c. Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield for a distance of 100 metres in a westerly direction
3. No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in the following length of road
a. Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
b. Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield to its junction with Observatory Way
c. Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield for a distance of 100 metres in a westerly direction
4. Vehicles are prohibited from turning left in the following length of road
a. Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - no left turn into Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield
5. Vehicles are prohibited from turning right in the following length of road
a. Lowmoor Road, Sutton in Ashfield - no right turn into Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield
b. Penny Emma Way, Kirkby in Ashfield - no right turn into Lowmoor Road, Kirkby In Ashfield
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 07:00, Monday 29th September, 2025
Until 23:59, Sunday 28th March 2027 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Northbound - Kirkby Folly Road - Station Road, Kings Mill Road East and vice versa
Southbound - Kings Mill Road East - Sutton Road - Chapel Street - The Hill - Victoria Road - Lane End - Urban Road - Portland Street - Pond Street and vice versa The Order will come into force on Monday 29th September, 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
