Swansea - Temporary Road Closure For Resurfacing Works

B4291 BIRCHGROVE ROAD, BIRCHGROVE, WOODFIELD STREET, MORRISTON, LON CAMLAD, WEST CROSS AVENUE, SWANSEA NOTICE 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea in pursuance of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has made an Order. In order for Swansea Council to undertake resurfacing works, it will be necessary to temporarily close the above-named roads to vehicular traffic.

SCHEDULE 1 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
B4291 BIRCHGROVE ROAD, SWANSEA (01/10/2025 to 09/10/2025 - 19:00 to 06:00)
B4291 Birchgrove Road from property 311 in a Southerly direction to outside property 175 a distance of approximately 650 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of B4291 Birchgrove Road, unnamed B4625, Peniel Green J44 Roundabout, B4625 Swansea Vale Link Road, Gwernllwynchwyth Road, Heol Las and the unaffected section of B4291 Birchgrove Road, a distance of approximately 3.5 kilometres. Similarly this route will operate in the reverse direction, drawing No 4461A

SCHEDULE 2 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
WOODFIELD STREET, MORRISTON (08/10/2025 to 17/10/2025 - 20.00 to 06.00) Woodfield Street from its junction with Pentrepoeth Road a southerly direction to its junction with Morfydd Street a distance of approximately 560 Metres
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A48 Clase Road, 
A4067 Fordd Cwm Tawe (Wychtree Roundabout to Landor Section) and the B4603 Martin Street a distance of approximately 1.5 kilometres. Similarly, this route will operate in the reverse direction, drawing No 4461B

SCHEDULE 3 - TEMPORARY ROAD LON CAMLAD, MORRISTON (16/10/2025 to 23/10/2025 - 07.30 to 17.00)
Lon Camlad from its junction with Caemawr Road over its entire length a distance of approximately 580 metres
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic, drawing No 4461C

SCHEDULE 4 - TEMPORARY ROAD WEST CROSS AVENUE, NORTON - (27/10/2025 to 31/10/2025 - 09.00 to 17.00)
Westcross Avenue from its junction with Westcross Lane, in a southerly direction to its junction with Norton Avenue, a distance of approximately 500 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Norton Avenue, A4067 Mumbles Road, Fairwood Road and Westcross Lane, a distance of approximately 1.7 kilometres Similarly, this route will operate in the reverse direction, drawing No 1691

Access for emergency vehicles to be maintained at all times.

The applicant will be responsible for the erection and maintenance of all advanced warning, Road Closed, diversion and alternative route signs in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and the Traffic Signs and Regulations and General Directions 2016 for the duration of the works.

The maximum duration of the order is 18 months, and it is anticipated the work will take 180 days to complete effective from Wednesday 1st October 2025 1st October 2025
