What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 GREENOAK LANE LEVEL CROSSING, GILBERDYKE
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from
proceeding along Greenoak Lane Level Crossing, Gilberdyke and 20 metres either side of the level crossing commencing 21 October 2025 between 00.05 hours until 05.10 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable “a track tamping machine to improve the track quality” for the proposed Greenoak Lane Level Crossing, Gilberdyke works and to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within five hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Greenoak Lane, B1230 Main Road, Clementhorpe Road, Scalby Lane, Station Road, Staddlethorpe Broad Lane and Bellasize Lane, Laxton CP, Gilberdyke CP, Blacktoft CP, Eastrington CP, Howdenshire Ward. The road will be closed to all traffic without exception and to pedestrians.
The Order will commence 21 October 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
