What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 23
THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
As part of a local safety scheme to improve sightlines and pedestrian crossing facilities at the junction of Market Lane and East End Road N2, the general effect of the Free Order would be to:
(a) Convert an existing length of no waiting restrictions operating 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday outside Nos. 4 to 6 Market Place N2 to no waiting restrictions operating ‘At any time’.
(b) Convert an existing length of no waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday outside No.2 Market Place N2, outside No.273 East End Road and at the side of 273 East End Road N2 (Market Place) to no waiting restrictions operating ‘At any time’.
The general effect of the Free order would formalise the upgrade of a length of waiting restrictions operating from 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday outside No.242 East End Road N3 and a length of waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday outside No. 244 East End Road to operate ‘At any time’.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Barnet in exercise of powers conferred by Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to formalise the installation of a Pedestrian Zebra Crossing including its associated zig zag road markings outside and opposite Nos.273 East End Road N2. As part of this scheme lengths of waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and lengths of waiting restrictions operating 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday would be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing highwaycorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Order should send a written statement explaining their comments, and quoting reference number Market Place N3 (SCR673) RSE054 to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW, via the Barnet Traffweb website or via email to highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
