What is happening?

(TY LLWYD, BRYNCOCH) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable National Grid Operatives to carry out Civil Engineering Works and for the Highway Authority to carry out any ancillary maintenance works in the highway.
The Order will come into force on the 16th October 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is estimated that the works will take 1 day to complete.
SCHEDULE
Ty Llwyd will be closed from a point 350m north of its junction with Farmers Road for a distance of 400m along its length in a northerly direction.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Farmers Road, Main Road, Neath Road, Pen Yr Alltwen, Bryn Llewellyn, Alltwen Hill, Gwyn’s Place, Gwyn Street, Ynys Y Mond Road and Glais Road and the unaffected section of Ty Llwyd
Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
