Hayton Road, Bielby - Temporary Traffic Prohibition

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 PART OF HAYTON
ROAD AND CRUDHALL LANE, BIELBY
AND PART OF BIELBY LANE, HAYTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Hayton Road, Bielby from its junction with Crudhall
Lane westbound for approximately 300 metres and part
of Crudhall Lane from its junction with Hayton Road,
Bielby to the access for Routh Lodge and part of Bielby
Lane, Hayton from its junction with Crudhall Lane
eastbound for approximately 100 metres commencing
21 October 2025 between 08.00 hours until
18.00 hours. The reason for the closure is to enable
the proposed part of Hayton Road and Crudhall Lane,
Bielby and Part of Bielby Lane, Hayton excavation to
install approximately 4200 metres of telecoms duct
to link into the existing telecoms apparatus as part
of larger fibre to the home scheme works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within ten hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Hayton Road, Main Street, Common Lane,
Melbourne Road, Common Road, A1079 Hodsow Lane
Roundabout, A1079 York Road, Bielby Lane,
Carr Lane and Crudhall Lane, Seaton Ross CP,
Melbourne CP, Allerthorpe CP, Barmby Moor CP,
Thornton CP, Pocklington CP, Hayton CP, Bielby CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The roads will be closed to all through traffic but
access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 21 October 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
