What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH ST STEPHEN 40
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using that length of Footpath St. Stephen 40, heading south to junction with St Stephen 57, for an approximate distance of 120m.
Alternative Route: via St Stephen 56, St Stephen 50-4, Albanam 24, Aldenham 22 and 23
The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.
The section of Footpath will be closed on or after 24 September 2025 for up to 8 weeks, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH RIDGE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Ridge, Harpenden from its junction with Ridgewood Drive south eastwards to its junction with Roundwood Lane, a distance of approximately 144m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Ridgewood Drive, Luton Road, A1081 Luton Road and Roundwood Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN SUTTON ROAD, ST ALBANS)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sutton Road, St Albans from its junction with Campfield Road north eastwards, and then westwards to its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road, a distance of approximately 198m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Hedley Road, Ashley Road and A1057 Hatfield Road.
ADDITIONALLY, vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the lengths of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MIDWAY, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Midway, St Albans from a point in line with the northern boundary of No. 51 Midway south eastwards for a distance of approximately 37m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Midway, Abbey Avenue, Wensley and Midway.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
