Waltham Forest - Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

THE WALTHAM FOREST (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS)

(CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACE) (E10 ROADS) (NO. 2) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 25th September 2025 it made an Order to allow for carriageway resurfacing works in Trelawn Road (Rd) and Maud Rd, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order will be only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose in Trelawn Rd E10 and in Maud Rd E10 – between its junction with High Rd Leyton and a point 30 metres from the said junction (of each road mentioned in paragraph 2 of this Notice).

Whilst the prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2 of this notice remain in force, and only at such time and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed or, where applicable, covered:

i) the no-entry restriction in Colville Rd; and

ii) the one way working in Trelawn Rd, Colville Rd, Maud Rd and York Rd (the section between Alexandra Rd and Maud Rd) shall be suspended.

The Order will come into operation on 25th September 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 1 week at each location however the Order has been extended to allow for any contingencies. (ref: TT45(25))

THE WALTHAM FOREST (CRANE DISASSEMBLY WORKS)

(BLACKHORSE LANE E17) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow Skyline Acornmet Ltd to dismantle a tower crane on a site at the junction of Blackhorse Lane (Ln) and Forest Road (Rd) (both E17), in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed or, where applicable, covered, prohibit:

i) vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, between 6am and 9pm of the following day in

Blackhorse Ln. – between its junctions with Forest Rd and Clifton Ave.; and

ii) pedestrians and cyclists from entering and proceeding in the footway/cycle path, between 6am and 9pm of the following day in Blackhorse Ln., north-west side, between its junction with Forest Rd and the projected south property boundary of No. 26.

The Order would come into operation on 4th October 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 3 months, or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

NOTE: The works on Blackhorse Ln. are expected to be executed between 6am on 4/10 and 9pm on 5/10, however, additional time is required for contingencies. (ref: TT41(25))

Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of these Orders would be removed.

Any uncontrolled or designated controlled parking spaces situated in the roads or parts of roads affected by any of the measures set out in the notices above will be suspended.

The prohibitions mentioned in all notices above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used:

(a) in connection with the said works; or

(b) for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes (if the works allow).

Signage will be placed in advance of any works in the roads mentioned in the aforementioned notices which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the prohibitions, effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary.
