What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(BUCKINGHAM ROAD, HEATON CHAPEL AND VARIOUS ROADS PLANNED ROAD MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Buckingham Road, Heaton Chapel - First 25 metres at junction of Wellington Road North. Diversion - Chandos Road, Alstone Road, Wellington Road North and Buckingham Road. Lumb Lane, Bramhall - First 25 metres at junction of Bramhall Lane South. Diversion - Maple Road, Meadway, Woodford Road, Bramhall Lane South, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary to allow for planned road maintenance works to take place. It is estimated these works will last up to 3 weeks. This Order is to come into operation on the 10 October 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
