NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDERS

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

The Oxfordshire County Council,

Eynsham Footpath No. 3 (part),

Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025

On 1 September 2025, the Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting, as shown on the Order map:–

Eynsham FP3 running from OS Grid Ref SP 4319 0890 east-north-east for 37m to SP 4322 0891 to a new line running from OS Grid Ref SP 4319 0890 north-north-east for 20m to SP 4320 0891 and south-east for 23m to SP 4322 0891.

The Order came into force on the date of confirmation but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within six weeks from 25 September 2025 make an application to the High Court.

Modification Order 2025

On 1 September 2025, Oxfordshire County Council confirmed without modification the above order made under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by: -

Adding to them the public footpath from Church Street at OS grid reference SP 4976 1480 running north-north-east for 44m to the existing southern end of Footpath No. 19 at SP 4974 1494.

The order as confirmed became operative on the date of confirmation but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, on the ground that it is not within the powers of section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of Schedule 15 to the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 25 September 2025, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
