Footpath 79, Bredbury and Romiley - Temporary Closure to Allow Resurfacing Works to Take Place
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 79, BREDBURY AND ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of Footpath 79, Bredbury and Romiley (The Tang), between Urwick Road and Green Lane, Romiley, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath.
This Order is necessary to allow resurfacing works to take place. It is estimated that the works will last no more than one week. The following diversion will be provided: North along Urwick Road, then St David's Avenue to Green Lane, then west and south along Green Lane.
This Order is to come into operation on 25 October 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/11503412
