What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (NORTH DOWNS ROAD, CHEADLE HULME) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 25 September 2025 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on 17 November 2025. The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time: North Downs Road (South Side) from its intersection with the western kerb line of East Downs Road for a distance of 31 metres in a south westerly direction, and East Downs Road (West Side) from its intersection with the southern kerb line of North Downs Road for a distance of 10 metres in southerly direction.
A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
