What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
BURNBY LANE, POCKLINGTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/
whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along
Burnby Lane, Pocklington. The reason for the closure
is to enable the proposed Burnby Lane, Pocklington
works to be carried out and completed in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
eight days. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the Order is via Pocklington Lane, Burnby Road,
Back Lane, Town Street, York Road, The Balk, White Mill
Roundabout and Parisi Way, Pocklington CP, Hayton CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain
open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access
to properties directly affected by the closure and for
emergency services. The Order will commence
20 October 2025 until 28 October 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
