What is happening?

Essex County Council

(High Lane, Stansted)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Lane, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 60m north west of its junction with Birchalls for a distance of approximately 25m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 14 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX055012723 – Affinity Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via B1351, B1383, B1051, B1353 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Star Lane, Great Dunmow)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Star Lane, Great Dunmow in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 15m north west of its junction with North Street for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG7N4J6J – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on the one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Star Lane, Rosemary Lane, Stortford Road, Market Place and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Stortford Road, Great Dunmow)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stortford Road, Great Dunmow in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Chequers Lane for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410275348 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ferrule renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Stortford Road, B1008, The Causeway, The Downs, Rosemary Lane, Stortford Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
