Cumbria, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Dangerous Bridge Repair Works
What is happening?
THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (FOOTPATH NO. 564015 IN THE PARISH OF PRESTON PATRICK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council (now Westmorland and Furness Council) on 8 March 2022, which became operative on 17 March 2022, because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to the dangerous condition of the bridge and to enable subsequent repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), and which would otherwise expire on 17 September 2022 · has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 September 2026.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that section of Public Footpath No. 564015 in the Parish of Preston Patrick, from Grid Reference 354444 483609, extending over Skip Burn for approx. 13 metres to Grid Reference 354449 483602.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.
