What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Knutsford Rd (Suspension of Bus Lane) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which will be as follows: Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Knutsford Rd) (Revocation & reserved bus lane including pedal cycles, Hackney Carriages & licensed private hire vehicles) Order 2016 in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – Bus Lane (including Pedal Cycles, Hackney Carriages & Licensed Private Hire Vehicles) 7.30am to 9.30am Monday to Saturday & the bus lane on Knutsford Rd which extends from a point 80m east of York St to a point 24m west of School St. The Order will be effective from 25th October 2025 for 1 week. The suspension is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out mains replacement work.

Percival St (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Percival St from its jct. with Lord Nelson St to its jct. with Part St. The Order will be effective from 13th October 2025 for 2 weeks. An alternative route will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to carry out sewer repair works.

The effect of which will be to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving:
Southwestern Approach to Cantilever Bridge to its jct. with Ackers Rd
Southeastern Approach to Cantilever Bridge from the Cantilever Bridge to its jct. with Ackers Rd
A574 Warrington Rd from the roundabout at East Lancs Rd to the roundabout at Betts Garden Centre
West Ave from its jct. with London Rd to its jct. with Kimberley St
Southwestern Approach to Cantilever Bridge from the Cantilever Bridge to its jct. with Ackers Rd
Southeastern Approach to Cantilever Bridge from the Cantilever Bridge to its jct. with Ackers Rd
The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025 for approx. 4 to 6 weeks at each location, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative routes will be as follows:
Southwestern Approach to Cantilever Bridge via Ackers Rd
Southeastern approach to Cantilever Bridge & vice versa
Southwestern Approach to Cantilever Bridge via Ackers Rd
Southeastern approach to Cantilever Bridge & vice versa
The restrictions are required for road or footway resurfacing.

Vulcan Cl, Poulton North (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Vulcan Cl from its jct. with Vallins Cl to its jct. with 94 Vulcan Cl. The Order will be effective from 27th October 2025 for 2 weeks. An alternative route will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow Openreach access to its underground network for spine cabling works.

Bradshaw Ln, Thelwall (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Bradshaw Ln from its jct. with Ollerton Rd to its jct. with Bell Ln. The Order will be effective from 1st October 2025 for 1 day, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative routes will be via Thelwall New Rd, Knutsford Rd, Knutsford Rd, Stockport Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow BT to safely access their network and install a redundant railway bridge.

Delph Ln (Suspension) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is as follows: Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Traffic Management) (Civil Enforcement) Consolidation Order 2025 in so far as it relates to Schedule 3 – No waiting at any time to the following extent:
Delph Ln (Both Sides) – From its jct. with the A49 Newton Rd to approx. 100m west of the A49 including the roundabout for the DIY & food retail stores. The Order will be effective from 2nd October 2025. The suspension is for a period of up to 6 months, however, will be in place until works are completed. The suspension is introduced to allow for the recently introduced Red Route Clearway to be enforced which has been introduced to prevent parking that could result in the potential for pedestrians to be struck within the carriageway or collisions between vehicles changing lane, sudden braking or entering or leaving the central reservation or grassed verges at unsuitable locations.

Penkford Ln, Burtonwood (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Penkford Ln from its jct. with Pennington Ln to its jct. with Collins Green Ln. The Order will be effective from 3rd October 2025 for 1 day, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative routes will be via Pennington Ln, Newton Rd, Derbyshire Hill Rd, Fleet St, Broad Ln, Penny Ln & vice versa & via Pennington Ln, Common Rd, Crow Ln West, Crow Ln East, High St, Church St, Mill Ln, Newton Rd, Hollins Ln, Alder Ln, Fir Tree Ln, Lumber Ln, Collins Green Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach to carry out telecom pole replacement works.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Pillmoss Ln from its jct. with Summer Ln to the borough boundary with Cheshire West & Chester. The Order will be effective from 29th September 2025 for 1 day, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative route will be via Summer Ln, Newton Ln, Grimsditch Ln, Tarporley Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach access to its overhead network.

Thelwall New Rd, Thelwall (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Thelwall New Rd from its jct. with Bell Ln to its jct. with Stockport Rd. The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025 for 3 weeks. The alternative route will be via Higher Knutsford Rd, Knutsford Rd, Knutsford Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent to carry out gas mains renewal works.

The effect of which is to introduce a clearway as follows:
Longwood Rd from the jct. at Longwood Rd Health Centre to its end
Roomer Close from Longwood Rd to its end
A56 Chester Rd – from Stockport Rd from A56 (Sainsbury’s) on to Lymm Rd;
Camsley Ln from A56 Stockport Rd to the roundabout near St Mary’s Church
Booth’s Hill Rd from The Post Office to A56 Thelwall Ln
Lumb Brook Rd from 50m south of its jct. with Stockton Ln to its end
The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025 at each location, between 9:30am & 3:30pm (approx. 1 to 3 days at each location). The restrictions are required to allow for safe surface treatment.

The temporary restrictions will be in place as & when the signs are in place on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
