TEMPORARY CLOSURE C3 PARK HILL
(WOOLASTON PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C3 Park Hill Road from the corner of the property known as ‘Upper Edge Farm, High Woolaston’ to the corner outside the property known as ‘Dovecote Farm, High Woolaston’ for a distance of approximately 115 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for remedial works to rectify carriageway defects.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 400143 CHURCH LANE
(WESTBURY ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400143 Church Lane Road for a distance of approximately 570 metres over a Rail Level Crossing.
The reason for the said closure is for Rail level crossing works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 22:00hrs on 4th October until 08:30hrs on 5th October 2025 only or until the said works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C46 UPPER RODLEY ROAD
(WESTBURY ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C46 Upper Rodley Road outside the property known as ‘Cowleys Elm’ for a distance of approximately 150 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for drainage works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 405031 ROAD FROM JUNCTION AT FERNS TO JUNCTION WITH NEW ROAD
(NEWNHAM ON SEVERN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 405031 Road from its junction at Ferns to its junction with New Road, from outside the property known as ‘Rose Tree Cottage’ for a distance of approximately 100 metres towards the Greyhound Inn.
The reason for the said closure is for embankment repair works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH FSB 36
(ST BRIAVELS PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council has by this emergency notice closed temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath FSB 36 (St Briavels) from its junction with Public Footpath FSB 80 then extending in a generally westerly direction for approximately 250 metres to its junction with Public Footpath FSB 37.
The Public Footpath falls within the St Briavels Parish in the Forest of Dean District, in the County of Gloucestershire.
The closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to damage to the path surface.
The footpath was originally closed for 21 days, by Emergency Notice from 27th August 2025, and extended by another such Notice, for a further 21 day period, from 18th September 2025. The works are still ongoing and it is therefore now necessary to make a closure Order. This legal Order will authorise the closure of the public footpath for up to six months from the date of the first Emergency Notice being 27th August 2025. However, if the problem continues after this time then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary of State for an extension to the closure.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (20MPH & 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) (VARIOUS ROADS) (VARIOUS PARISHES)
(TEWKESBURY BOROUGH & FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council in exercise of its enabling powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made the above-named order the effect of which will be to:

  1. introduce the speed limits detailed in schedules 1 & 2 below; and
  2. repropose the existing 50mph speed limit on the A48 between the A40 Highnam Roundabout & Westbury-on-Severn to rectify anomalies between the existing Traffic Order & on-site signage, as well as consolidate the speed limits on this section of the A48 into one Traffic Order.

The lengths of roads fall within the Parishes of Highnam & Minsterworth in the Tewkesbury Borough and the Parish of Westbury on Severn within the Forest of Dean District, all within the County of Gloucestershire.
The Order shall come into effect on 10th October 2025.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400124 Rocks Road and footway from its junction with Orchard Road to its junction with School Road for a distance of approximately 72 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for footway resurfacing works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 400165 HOLLY LANE
(WEST DEAN PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400165 Holly Lane Road from outside of the property known as ‘Home Farm’ to outside of the property known as ‘Amberley’ for a distance of approximately 275 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of the National Grid.
The said road is expected to be closed from 08:00hrs on 22nd October 2025 to 1600hrs on 28th October 2025 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

The reason for the said closure is for maintenance of the said NWR Bridge.
The said road is expected to be closed from 23:00hrs on 25th October 2025 to 07:00hrs on 26th October 2025 and from 23:00hrs on 1st November 2025 to 07:00hrs on 2nd November 2025 or until the works have been completed.

The reason for the said closure is for tree felling and vegetation works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C2 ROAD FROM A48 TO CROSS HILL (TIDENHAM PARISH) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C2 Road from A48 To Cross Hill from its junction with the A48 to outside the Church for a distance of approximately 190 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for ditching works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART FOOTPATH FLY 42 (LYDNEY TOWN) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath FLY 42 from its junction with Naas Lane in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 280 metres to a point 5 metres west of the Lydney Bypass.

The said Public Footpath falls within Lydney in the Forest of Dean District, within the County of Gloucestershire.

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst construction works take place. This temporary closure Order came into force on the 20th April 2025 and was expected to end on the 20th October 2025. However, the works have still not been completed and the

Secretary of State has granted an extension until 20th April 2027 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FLY 44, DAW 81, AND DAW 84 (AWRE PARISH)
(LYDNEY TOWN) FOREST OF DEAN DISTRICT
NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the footpaths as described in the schedule below.
SCHEDULE
Part of Public Footpath FLY 44 from its junction with Public Footpath FLY 43 extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 1640 metres to its junction with FLY 50 Part of Public Footpath DAW 81 from its junction with road number C24 road from junction at Gurshill Farm to Junction at Chandlers extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 1200 metres to its junction with DAW 82 Part of Public Footpath DAW 84 from its junction with DAW 82 at OSGR SO 68005 05466 extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 620 metres and then continuing in a north westerly direction for approximately 250 metres to its junction with Class 5 road Pleasant View.
The Public Footpaths fall within the Parish of Awre and the Town of Lydney in the Forest of Dean District, in the County of Gloucestershire.
The closure is necessary to protect the public while nailing and netting of railway embankments are completed.
This temporary closure Order came into force on the 19th April 2025. However, works have still not been completed, and the Secretary of State has granted an extension of the closure until 19th April 2026 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.
