Kendal, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Safety Concerns
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 574007 IN THE PARISH OF STRICKLAND KETEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, due to safety concerns, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 250 metre section of Footpath No. 574007 in the Parish of Strickland Ketel between grid references: 350855, 495104 and 350757, 494924.
This follows the emergency notice dated 12 September.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians is being created along the eastern boundary of the field, joining the footway on Burneside Road and the unaffected section of the footpath.
The Order will come into operation on 2 October 2025 as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed and may continue in force for a period of up to six months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
