NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

FOOTPATHS 15 & 22 GOSFIELD

On 15 September 2025 Essex County Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as shown on the order maps as confirmed is to divert:

Footpath 15

A part length of Footpath 15 Gosfield of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from a point just north of the watercourse heading in a southerly direction across an existing footbridge over the watercourse and across the corner of an agricultural field before continuing in a southerly direction along a surfaced farm track towards Aylewards Farm then continuing in a south easterly then southerly direction through the farmyard. The path then continues in a south easterly then north easterly direction along the southern side of a field edge for a total distance of approximately 814 metres where it continues unaffected to an alternative route 2 metres in width shown as a bold broken line on the order map commencing from a point east of Aylewards Farm running in a north east direction following an uncultivated grass strip across the agricultural field and over the new footbridge for a total distance of approximately 446 metres where it continues unaffected.

Footpath 22

A part length of Footpath 22 Gosfield of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing at its junction with Footpath 15 Gosfield running in a south easterly direction across an agricultural field for a total distance of approximately 530 metres where it continues unaffected to an alternative route 2 metres in width shown by a bold broken line on the order map commencing at the aforementioned point just north of the watercourse running in an easterly direction along a headland approximately 10 metres from the edge of the watercourse then continuing in a north easterly direction along the western and northern boundary of the sewage works for a total distance of approximately 590 metres where it continues unaffected.

The alternative route comes into force on 13 October 2025, and the old route shall be stopped up with effect from 20 October 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 25 September 2025, make an application to the High Court.

(Bayley Street/Pye Corner, Castle Hedingham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Bayley Street/Pye Corner, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with St James Street to its junction with Crown Street a distance of approximately 390m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388693 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via St James Street, Queen Street, Station Road, Yeldham Road, Crouch Green, Nunnery Street, Pye Corner and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Petersfield Lane, Gosfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Petersfield Lane, Gosfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Braintree Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG0G1H4TSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

(Church Street, Colne Engaine)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Church Street, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03161328508/1 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via A1124, Colne Park Road, Lawshall’s Hill, Countess Cross, Overhall Hill, Green Farm Road, The Green, Church Street, and vice versa (with access only into Church Street and Station Road).

The Order came into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cross End, Pebmarsh)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Cross End, Pebmarsh in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 370m north east of the junction with Hill House Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010619883 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via:

Hill House Road, Cricks Road, Countess Cross, Lawshall’s Hill, Colne Park Road, Colchester Road, Bures Road, Colne Road, Hornes Green Road, Peyton Hall Road, Bures Road, and vice versa (with access only into Pebmarsh Road, Cross End and The Street).

The Order came into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hedingham Road, Gosfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Hedingham Road, Gosfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 360m north west of the junction with Halstead Road for a distance of approximately 75m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310783577 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via A131, A1124, and vice versa (with access only into Braintree Road, Hedingham Road, The Street, Braintree Road, and Gosfield Road).

The Order came into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tilbury Road, Great Yeldham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Tilbury Road, Great Yeldham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Duncan Rise to its junction with Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 750m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2385189 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via:

Tilbury Road, Tilbury Hill, Belchamp Road, Mashey Road, Church Green, School Road, Little Yeldham Road, Leather Lane, North Road, and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
