Kendal, Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians Due To Housing Construction Works

What is happening?

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (FOOTPATH NO. 536008 IN THE PARISH OF KENDAL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council (now Westmorland and Furness Council) on 21 March 2023, which became operative on 27 March 2023, due to the continued likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of housing construction works to be carried out ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 27 September 2023

:has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 27 September 2026.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx 245 metre length of Public Footpath No. 536008 in the Parish of Kendal from GR 351148 494416 to its junction with path no 536009 at GR 351099 494209.

A suitable alternative route is available for pedestrians via Blackthorn Close, Briarigg, Buneside Road, and then footpath 574027

If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate minister.
