Kirkhead Road, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (KIRKHEAD ROAD, KENTS BANK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Kirkhead Road, Kents Bank, from its junction with Allithwaite Road (B5277), extending in a south easterly direction to its junction with Greaves Wood Road.
A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Kirkhead Road, Priory Lane, Kentsford Road, Carter Road and Allithwaite Road (B5277).

The Order will come into operation on 13th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
