Gargrave, Multiple Roads, 30 mph Speed Restriction Order
What is happening?

30 Mph Speed Limit, Various Roads In Gargrave, Order Notice is hereby given that on 16/09/25 we made an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour on any length of road specified below.
A65; from a point 77 metres east of the centre line of Airedale Avenue to a point 180 metres west of the centre line of Park Croft.
Church Street; from its junction with the A65 to a point 66 metres south of the centre line of Gargrave Railway station car park.
Marton Road; from its junction with Church Street to a point 40 metres west of a point opposite the SE corner of No 1 High Mill.
Eshton Road; from its junction with the A65 to a point 58 metres SW of the centre line of Ray Bridge Lane.
Sharapaw View; in its entirety.
Swire Croft Road; in its entirety.
Chapel Court; in its entirety.
Askwith Business Park; in its entirety.
East Street; in its entirety.
Mickle Hill Mews; in its entirety.
North Street; in its entirety.
South Street; in its entirety.
River Place; in its entirety.
Smithy Croft Road; in its entirety.
Old Hall Croft; in its entirety.
Higherlands Close; in its entirety.
Church Lane; in its entirety.

A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 30/09/25, may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Gargrave & Malhamdale Community Library, Village Hall, West Street, Gargrave, Skipton BD23 3RD during normal office hours from 25/09/25 until 28/10/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 16/09/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
