What is happening?
of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, if required, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Furlong Road (D3282) Staines Upon Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Furlong Road (D3282) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (D3282) Mill Mead and for a distance of 37 metres in a north-easterly direction; (b) that length of the northeastbound carriageway of Furlong Road (D3282) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction opposite the access into the car park facilitating “Ascot House” to its junction opposite the access into the car park facilitating “Windsor House” and “Sandown House”. This Order is required to facilitate removal of tower crane works for, or on behalf of Dandara Living. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 22 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 October 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Various Roads in Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to (a): Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Farncombe Street (D98), and Station Road (D5411), Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2024” and “The Surrey County Council Station Road (D5411) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” and “The Surrey County Council Bourne Road (D98) Farncombe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” in their entirety. This Order is required to facilitate rail upgrade works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 22 nights, between the hours of 10pm and 6am, within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 October 2025. For Part (a) and (b)) of the schedule of this Notice: Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures and suspensions, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, via the banksmen on site. For Part (c) of the schedule of this Notice: Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures and suspensions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, via the banksmen on site.
Schedule
(a) that length of Farncombe Street (D98) Godalming that is crossed by the level crossing known as “Farncombe” and for a distance of 15 metres either side. Alternative Route: Farncombe Street, Binscombe Lane, Binscombe, Green Lane, Bourne Road, Summers Road, and Farncombe Street, or this route in reverse.
(b) That length of Station Road (D5411) Godalming as extends from its junction with (D98) Farncombe Street to its junction with (D5411) North Street. Alternative Route: Farncombe Street, Binscombe Lane, Binscombe, Green Lane, Bourne Road, Summers Road, and Farncombe Street, or this route in reverse.
(c) That length of Bourne Road (D98) Farncombe that is crossed by the level crossing known as “Farncombe East” and for a distance of 15 metres either side.
Alternative Route: Bourne Road, Green Lane, Binscombe, Binscombe Lane, Farncombe Street, Nightingale Road, Chalk Road, (A3100) Meadrow, Hare Lane, St Johns Street, and Summers Road, or this route in reverse.
Feltham Hill Road (D6205), Southfields Avenue (D3270), and Park Road (D3263) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D3270) Chessholme Road to its junction with (D3270) Redleaves Avenue; (b) Southfields Avenue (D3270) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D6205) Feltham Hill Road and for a distance of 25 metres along Southfields Avenue; and (c) Park Road (D3263) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D6205) Feltham Hill Road and for a distance of 25 metres along Park Road.
Alternative Route: (1) Feltham Hill Road, (B378) School Road, (A308) Staines Road West, Chertsey Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse; (2) Southfields Avenue, Redleaves Avenue, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse; (3) Park Road, New Park Road, Poplar Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate reconstruction of a raise road table for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the lengths of roads described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 week, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 20 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
A30 London Road, Englefield Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in that length of A30 London Road, Englefield Green which extends from its junction with Bakeham Lane to its junction with Blacknest Lane. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing/prepatching works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians will be permitted by the gatemen when safe to do so. Access for cyclists will not be maintained and will be required to follow the signed diversion route/directed by the gatemen on-site.
Alternative Route – A328 St Judes Road, A328 Priest Hill (partly within Windsor & Maidenhead), A308 Straight Road (Windsor & Maidenhead), A308 Albert Road (Windsor & Maidenhead), A332 Kings Road (Windsor & Maidenhead), A332 Sheet Street Road (Windsor & Maidenhead), A332 Windsor Road (Windsor & Maidenhead), A329 London Road (Windsor & Maidenhead) and A329 Blacknest Road.
B376 Laleham Road, Shepperton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of B376 Laleham Road, Shepperton which extends from its junction with Old Charlton Road to the eastern side of the M3 Junction 2 to Junction 1 bridge (M3/28.0); and (b) revoke “Surrey County Council Various Roads in Runnymede and Spelthorne Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024” insofar as it relates to Laleham Road only. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate capital surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Alternative Route – B376 High Street, B375 Renfree Way, B375 Chertsey Road, C245 Littleton Lane and B376 Laleham Road.

Public Bridleway 16 (Ockham)
Public Footpath 19 (Ockham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 07 October 2025 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Bridleway 16 (Ockham) from grid ref: 507786 157808 heading South to grid ref: 507767 157617. And Public Footpath 19 (Ockham) from grid ref: 508407 157785 heading South West to grid ref: 508318 157517.
The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of four months from 8 October 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic for Public Bridleway 16 (Ockham) from grid ref: 507786 157808 will be to head generally South East for approximately 104 metres. Then head generally South for approximately 90 metres. Then head South West for approximately 130 metres to grid ref: 507767 157808.
The alternative route for traffic for Public Footpath 19 (Ockham) from grid ref: 508407 157785 will be to head generally South East then South West for 340 metres to grid ref: 508318 157517.
The Public Bridleway 16 and Public Footpath 19 (Ockham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Public Bridleway 566 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 19 September 2025 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along Public bridleway 566 (Cranleigh) from grid Ref. 505352 139173, to the junction with Knowle Lane.
The Order is necessary for reason of public safety due to works taking place on a substation and associated excavations of power lines on the Bridleway. It will be in operation from 22 September 2025 until 10 October 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists is as follows: From point grid Ref. 505352 139173 proceed North across the Western end of Stockland Square car park and follow the signs to St James Place. Follow St James Place North to Cranleigh High Street. Then proceed in a generally south easterly direction until you reach the junction with Knowle Lane and proceed south on Knowle Lane until you reach the eastern end of the closure. Cyclists following this section to dismount.
There is no suggested alternative route for users on horseback.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpath 566 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made by Surrey County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Bank Buildings Road (D190) Cranleigh (Prohibition of Entry) (Pedestrianisation) Experimental Traffic Order 2025
On 23 September 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-named Experimental Traffic Order under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”). The effect of the Order, whilst it remains in force, will be to:- 1. prohibit all vehicles, including pedal cycles, proceeding in that length of Bank Buildings Road (D190) Cranleigh that extends from its junction with Rowland Road (D664) to its junction with Onslow Mews (X11097) between the hours of 9:00am to 4:30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays; and 2. prohibit vehicles from entering that length of Bank Buildings Road (D190) Cranleigh which lies west of the junction of Bank Buildings Road (D190) and Onslow Mews. The prohibitions will not apply in relation to: - (a)
Any vehicle being used for ambulance fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; (b) Anything done upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform; (c) Any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or 67 of the Act.
A copy of a plan showing the length of road to which the Order relates, a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Experimental Traffic Order and a Statement of the Council’s guidelines on the acceptance of objections to Traffic Regulation Orders may be viewed free of charge, together with a copy of the Experimental Traffic Order which will come into operation on 06 October 2025, for a maximum period of eighteen months, at: - (i) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday; (ii) Cranleigh Library, High Street, Cranleigh, GU6 8AE, from 9:30am to 5:00pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays. If you wish question the validity of the Experimental Traffic Order, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Experimental Traffic Order, you may, within six weeks of the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
If the provisions of the Experimental Traffic Order continue for a period of not less than six months, or if the Order is subsequently varied by another Order under Section 10 of the Act, or modified pursuant to Subsection (2) of Section 10 of the Act, for a period of not less than six months from the coming into operation of that variation or modification (whatever is the latest), the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Traffic Order should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order Under Section 1 of the Act. Any person desiring to object or make other representations relating to the making of the Order under Section 1 of the Act for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the aforementioned period of six months, send a statement in writing of their objection or representations (including any in support) and the grounds thereof in writing to the undersigned at Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ.
