What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(KYLE ROAD / LOBLEY HILL ROAD, BENSHAM)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce temporary prohibitions to vehicles as set out in the Schedule below, and suspend the Bus Lane on Lobley Hill Road from a point 12 metres north east of its junction with Kyle Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 115 metres.

The Order is required to allow works to be carried out to construct a new property entrance.

The Order will come into force on the 13 October 2025.

The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however the works are expected to be completed by the 16 November 2025.

During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from carrying out the manoeuvres or proceeding on the roads as set out in the Schedule to this Notice until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
