Workington, Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BACK LANE OF HUNTER STREET AND BROWN STREET, WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along an approx. 10 metre section of the back lane of Hunter Street and Brown Street, Workington, which extends from its junction with the C2063, Vulcan's Lane.
There is no suitable alternative route available.

The Order will come into operation on 14 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
