What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC000145811929: The City of Manchester (Stevenson Square, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Stevenson Square, from Hilton Street to Lever Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate brand activation outside of PUBLIC bar. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 13th October 2025 to 16th October 2025 between the hours of 00:00 and 23:59. The order shall come into operation on 13th October 2025and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 30th September 2025.

ORDER NO. MCC145808785: The City of Manchester (Spring Gardens, Brown Street & Marble Street, Deansgate Ward Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & Suspension of One-Way Traffic)Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Spring Gardens junction with York Street & on Brown Street near the junction with Marsden Street.. The alternative routes for traffic will be: King Street, Cheapside, Marsden Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate crane operations. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 11th October 2025 to 1st February 2026 scheduled weekends. The order shall come into operation on 11th October 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
