CITY OF BRISTOL

NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE CITY COUNCIL OF BRISTOL
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. BCC/151
PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER (NO. 9) 2025

The above named order, made on the 25 September 2025 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the public footpath in Eastville running from grid reference 361459 176412 (being the north western corner of the field adjacent to the M32), in a south-easterly direction between the rears of properties on Barkleys Hill and The Chine, and the fenced field boundary and playing field boundary, to Park Road, at grid reference 361680 176196, a total distance of approximately 312 metres with a width of approximately 1.2 metres along its entire length, as shown on the order map accompanying the order.

The order is also made under Section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (the 1981 Act) because it appears to the authority that the City Council of Bristol definitive map and statement require modification in consequence of the occurrence of an event specified in section 53(3)(a)(i) of the 1981 Act, namely the stopping up of a highway shown or required to be shown in the map and statement.

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Bristol City Council, City Hall, Bristol BS1 5TR, during normal office hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at a price of 30p. Copies of the order and order map may be sent by second class post on receipt of a written request at a price of £6 to cover the Council’s administrative costs.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Service Director, Legal and Democratic Services, City Hall PO Box 3300, Bristol BS1 9LN, quoting reference DB3/15759469, not later than 7 November 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Bristol City Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

Dated: 30 September 2025
