What is happening?

OLDHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE OLDHAM - FOOTPATH 272 SADDLEWORTH (CHEW ROAD)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

The Oldham Borough Council on 30th September 2025 with the consent of Secretary of State extended the above Order to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that part of Footpath 272 Saddleworth (Chew Road) from its junction with Footpath 274 at Chew Brook to its junction with Footpath 270. No alternative route. When possible outside of working hours and at weekends the track will be reopened.

The Order is to be made to allow United Utilities spillway improvements and will be in force until 30th March 2026 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
