What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF STOCKTON-ON-TEES HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 - SECTION 116

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that as highway authority Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council intend to apply to the Magistrates Court Teesside sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Square, Middlesbrough on 29th October 2025 at 10am for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 to authorise the stopping up of an area of the highway mentioned in the Schedule hereto on the ground that the highway is unnecessary.

A draft Order and Plan showing the highways proposed to be stopped up may be viewed free of charge on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders). Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application.

 SCHEDULE

The area of highway to be stopped up at Clarence Mews, Clarence Road, Eaglescliffe, TS16 0DG.
