(Clapham and Patching: Long Furlong (A280))

(30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact the recently installed 30 MPH speed limit on Long Furlong (A280) in the parishes of Clapham and Patching, from 90m south of its junction with Clapham Common, northwards to a point 110m north of its junction with Coldharbour Lane.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 29 September 2025, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 25 September 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose. (Littlehampton: Irvine Road, St Augustine Road and Western Road)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close roads in Littlehampton as follows:

Irvine Road: from St Augustine Road, westwards for 65m; St Augustine Road: from 25m north of Irvine Road, southwards for 50m, Western Road: from St Augustine Road eastwards for 25m.

These restrictions are needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 29 September 2025 and remain in force until 24 October 2025.Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worthing: Lansdowne Road)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Lansdowne Road in Worthing from a point 40m east of its junction with Downview Road, eastwards for 45m.

The road closure is needed to allow emergency gas main repairs to be completed.

The Order continues the effect of a previously issued emergency closure notice and will come into effect on 30 September 2025. Works are due to be completed on 3 October 2025, but once made the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
