Christie’s Lane, Montrose - Temporary Restriction for Scottish Water Works
What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 22/09/2025 Angus Council made The Angus Council (Christie’s Lane, Montrose) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2025 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that works may be undertaken on behalf of Scottish Water. The Order will come into force on Tuesday, 30 October 2025 from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of ten days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on Christie’s Lane, Montrose from a point 35m or thereby east of its junction with St Peter’s Place (Eastern Road) in an easterly direction for a distance of 25m or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via St Peter’s Place (Eastern Road), India Street, Faulds Road and Christie’s Lane.
