What is happening?

Temporary Closure Of C67, Corscombe
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C67, CORSCOMBE between its junction with A356 and a point approximately 1330 metres south west. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 0900 and 1530 on 13 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24 October 2025.
This Order will enable Openreach, safe access to overhead structure.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: A356 - C102

Temporary Closure Of Pymore Road, Bridport
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along PYMORE ROAD, BRIDPORT between its junction with Thread Mill Lane and The Barn, a distance of approximately 595 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30 September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 06 October 2025.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out works to existing sewer.
An alternative route will be signed using; Coneygar Road - A3066 - Watford Lane

Temporary Closure Of George Street, West Bay
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along GEORGE STREET, WEST BAY between the entrance to Rise and 9, George Street, a distance of approximately 15 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 October 2025.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out water main repairs.
An alternative route will be signed using; B3157 - North Side Basin

Temporary Closure Of Pilsdon Lane, Pilsdon
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 October 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works.
The effect of the Order is as follows:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on PILSDON LANE, PILSDON, between its junction with Yard Lane and Bills Cottage, a distance of approximately 1115 metres.
[2] To impose a parking suspension, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent parking on the highway along PILSDON LANE, PILSDON, between its junction with Yard Lane and Bills Cottage, a distance of approximately 1115 metres.
[3] To impose a clearway, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along PILSDON LANE, PILSDON, between its junction with Yard Lane and Bills Cottage, a distance of approximately 1115 metres.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
