What is happening?

BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL 

(25-012) (NEW SYDNEY PLACE, SYDNEY ROAD, BATHWICK) (BATH) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) (PROHIBITION OF PARKING AND WAITING) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Bath and North East Somerset Council has made an order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will introduce the following restrictions in New Sydney Place, Sydney Road, Bathwick, Bath; 

1. Prohibit any vehicle other than an Authorised Vehicle to enter the length of the road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order; 

2. Prohibit any vehicle to park and/or wait in the roads specified in Schedule 2 to this Order; The order will come into operation on 1st October 2025. 

Full details of the proposal together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Road - Length 

Sydney Road, From its junction with Sydney Mews and Bathwick Sydney Place (known as New Sydney Place) for a distance of 5 metres in a north easterly direction. 

SCHEDULE 2
 
Road - Length 

Sydney Road, Bathwick - From a point 5 metres north east of its junction with Sydney Mews and Sydney Place (known as New Sydney Place) on the southern side, extending across the highway from south to north for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction.

From its junction with Sydney Mews and Sydney Place (known as New Sydney Place) on the southern side, extending across the highway from south to north for a distance of 30 metres in a north westerly direction.
