Newton Lane, Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Inspection Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - NEWTON LANE, NEWTON VALENCE, EAST HAMPSHIRE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Newton Lane between its junction with A32 Gosport Road and continuing to a point 340 metres East on Newton Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Gosport Road, Station Road, Newton Lane.

DURATION OF ORDER: from Wednesday 8th October 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 day working between the hours 09:30-15:30).

The Temporary Road Closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Balfour Beatty to complete safety inspection if redundant rail bridge. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order please contact: roadspace@hattontraffic.co.uk.
