Various Roads, Sutton Bonington - Vehicles Are Prohibited From Waiting Loading And Unloading (Both Sides) (At Any Time)

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, SUTTON BONINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (R25 225)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Sutton Bonington, Normanton on Soar and West Leake in the Borough of Rushcliffe.

The effects of the Order will be:

1.Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a.A6006 Rempstone Road, Sutton Bonington - At a point 312 metres northwest of its junction with Park Lane.
b.Hungary Lane, Sutton Bonington - Between its junction with Main Street and Trowell Lane.
c.Landcroft Lane, Sutton Bonington - Between its junction with College Road and Melton Lane.
d.Butt Lane, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Main Street and A6006 Rempstone Road.
e.Brickyard Lane, West Leake - Between its junction with Trowell Lane and Travell’s Hill.
f.Dark Lane, West Leake - Between its junction with Main Street and Wossock Lane.

2.Vehicles are prohibited from waiting loading and unloading (both sides) (at any time) in the following length of road:
a.Soar Lane, Sutton Bonington - From its junction with Main Street for a distance of 36 metres northeast.
b.Main Street, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Moor Lane and Stanford Road.

3.Vehicles with a weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a.Moor Lane, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with A6006 Rempstone Road and Main Street.
b.Main Street, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Moor Lane and Stanford Road.
c.Stanford Road, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Main Street and Normanton Lane.
d. Normanton Lane, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Stanford Road and Leake Lane.
e.Leake Lane, Normanton on Soar - Between its junction with Normanton Lane and A6006 Rempstone Road.

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 07:00, Monday 6th October 2025
Until 17:00, Friday 17th July 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a.A6006 Rempstone Road - A6006 Rempstone Road - A60 Loughborough Road - A52 Clifton Boulevard - A453 Remembrance Way - A453 J24 Roundabout - A453 Ashby Road - A6 Kegworth Bypass - A6 London Road - A6 Derby Road - A6006 Zouch Road - A6006 Main Street - A6006 Rempstone Road and vice versa.
b.Hungary Lane - Hungary Lane - Trowell Lane - Melton Lane - College Road - Marle Pit Hill - Main Street and vice versa.
c.Landcroft Lane - Landcroft Lane, Melton Lane, College Road and vice versa.
d.Butt Lane - Butt Lane - Rempstone Road - Trowell Lane - Melton Lane - College Road - Marle Pit Hill - Main Street - Park Lane - Moor Lane & vice versa.
e.Brickyard Lane - Trowell Lane - A6006 Rempstone Road - Travell’s Hill and vice versa.
f.Dark Lane - West Leake Lane - Gotham Road - Station Road - Melton Lane -Pithouse Lane - Main Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Monday 6th October 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Network Rail to carry out works to replace the A6006 Remptsone Road Bridge.
