The Renfrewshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby gives notice that, because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads, no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven or cause or permit any vehicle (except works vehicles) to wait or load on the following length of road in the town of Paisley in the Unitary Authority of Renfrewshire:

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE:-

Broomlands Street, Paisley

  • Phase 1 – Maxwellton Street to King Street (closure will include this junction).

  • Phase 2 – King Street to Castle Street (closure will include this junction).

Wellmeadow Street, Paisley: – Castle Street to Well Street.

Broomlands Street Phase 1 will be carried out in overnight closures and is expected to take 7 nights for this phase. The intersection will be reopened during the day over the works period with lane closures and temporary signals in place where required.

Broomlands Street Phase 2 and Wellmeadow Street will be carried out as a full day and night closure for completion of the night works in phase 1.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING & LOADING:-

Broomlands Street, Paisley – Phase 1 Only – From Maxwellton Street to Ferguslie (both sides of the Road).

Queen Street, Paisley and Cross Street, Paisley

Reason for Restriction: Carriageway Resurfacing

Vehicles left on the road in contravention of this Notice will be moved out of the works area. Emergency access will be maintained. Access to premises will be maintained where possible.

Alternative Routes:

  • Phase 1 - B775 Underwood Road, Greenhill Road, Ferguslie Park Avenue, Barskiven Road, A761 Linwood Road, A761 Ferguslie, B775 Maxwellton and Vice Versa.

  • Phase 2 and Wellmeadow Street – B775 Maxwellton Street, A761 Canal Street, Wardrop Street, George Street and Castle Street.

This notice will be in force from Sunday 28th September 2025 to Monday 27th October 2025.

This notice will only be effective when so displayed by signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions 2016.
