Thanet, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

THANET AREA

 

A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed on the Westbound Carriageway only outside number 117, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A254 Belgrave Road, A254 Eaton Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, A255 High Street, A255 Ramsgate Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Margate Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Canterbury Road, West, A299 Monkton Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A299 St Nicholas Roundabout, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 The Square and A28 Canterbury Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

A254 Margate Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A254 Margate Road, Ramsgate, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 56, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A254 Margate Road, A255 Boundary Road, A255 Hereson Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Bromstone Road, Pysons Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

A255 High Street & A255 The Broadway, Broadstairs, CT10 9BG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 High Street & A255 The Broadway, Broadstairs, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only.

A255 High Street will be closed at the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A255 The Broadway will be closed at the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 High Street, A255 Queens Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Bromstone Road, Fairfield Road, A255 Broadstairs Road, A255 St Peters Road, A255 The Broadway and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cuthbert Road & Thanet Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cuthbert Road & Thanet Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

Cuthbert Road will be closed at the junction of Thanet Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Thanet Road will be closed at the junction of Cuthbert Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Domneva Road, Westgate Bay Avenue, St Mildreds Road, Cuthbert Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dane End Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dane End Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 9th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Carlton Road East to outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sea Road, Domneva Road, Ryders Avenue, Hengist Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Grange Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grange Road, Ramsgate, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 52, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grange Road, Ellington Place, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, B2054 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Ramsgate, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 101A Flat 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via High Street, Chatham Street, A255 Boundary Road, King Street, Broad Street and Church Hill.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Hardres Street, A255 Boundary Road, Chatham Street and High Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 6HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Melbourne Avenue and Auckland Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Melbourne Avenue, St Johns Avenue, St Johns Crescent, Auckland Avenue, Princess Margaret Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ringold Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 6JT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ringold Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Princess Margaret Avenue, Melbourne Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Southwood Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Southwood Road, Ramsgate, on or after 23rd October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the side of number 48 Grange Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Southwood Road, Lorne Road, Mays Road, Grange Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
