Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

MAIDSTONE AREA

 

A274 Sutton Valence Resurfacing  (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Sutton Valence, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The following roads will be closed as per the below schedule:

Will be closed from the junction with Chartway Street, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only.

B2010 High Street, Yalding, ME18 6HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2010 High Street, Yalding, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Yalding Bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2010 High Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2015 Bow Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 High Street and vice versa.

 

B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, ME17 1RS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, on or after 23rd October 2025 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Abbey Farm, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street and vice versa.

 

 

Broomfield Road & Park Barn Road, Broomfield, & Burberry Lane, Leeds (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree trimming works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Broomfield Road & Park Barn Road, Broomfield, and Burberry Lane, Leeds on or after 7th October 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

Broomfield Road will be closed on 7th October 2025 between the junction with A20 Ashford Road and Lower Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, Chegworth Road, Lenham Road, Gravelly Bottom Road, Broomfield Road, Upper Street, Lower Street and vice versa.

Park Barn Road will be closed on 8th October 2025 between the junction with Burberry Lane and the junction with Broomfield Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burberry Lane, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Broomfield Road, Lower Street, Upper Street and vice versa.

Burberry Lane will be closed from 9th October 2025 to 10th October 2025 between the junction of B2163 Lower Street and the junction with George Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Lane, B2163 Lower Street and vice versa.

 

Buckland Hill, Buckland Road & A20 London Road, Maidstone, ME16 0DT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF NO RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Buckland Hill, Buckland Road & A20 London Road, Maidstone, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.

Buckland Hill will be closed from the junction with A20 London Road to St Peters Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Buckland Road will be closed between property number 74 Buckland Road to the side of property number 27 Buckland Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, and St Peters Street.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via St Peters Street, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A20 Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road and Buckland Hill.

The No Right Turn on A20 London Road at the junction with Buckland Hill will be suspended for diversion.

 

Buckland Road, Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a school event to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit parking on part of Buckland Road, Maidstone, on or after 9th October 2025 for up to 4 days.

Buckland Road will have restricted parking between Buckland Hill and the school gates.

Restrictions will be in place:

9th October 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

14th October 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

13th November 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

27th November 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

 

Caring Lane, Leeds & Caring Lane, Bearsted, ME17 1TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Caring Lane, Leeds & Caring Lane, Bearsted, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from in the vicinity of Woodlarks Cottage to the junction with A20 Ashford Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caring Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Otham Lane, Caring Road, Caring Lane and vice versa.

 

Church Lane, Bicknor, ME9 8BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water meter works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Bicknor, on or after 12th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Walnut Tree Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, Hazel Street, Admiral Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

 

Fant Lane, Maidstone, ME16 8TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fant Lane, Maidstone, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road and the junction with Gatland Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gatland Lane, Farleigh Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.

 

Fisher Street, Maidstone, ME14 2SU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fisher Street, Maidstone, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 26. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fisher Street, Randall Street, Scott Street, Perryfield Street and vice versa.

 

Goudhurst Road, Staplehurst, TN12 0HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Goudhurst Road, Staplehurst, on or after 21st October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction of Cork Lane and the junction with Pristling Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Goudhurst Road, Pinnock Lane, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 Knoxbridge, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Camden Hill, A229 The Common, A229 Wilsley Pound, A262 Goudhurst Road, Marden Road, Colliers Green Road, Folly Hill, Goudhurst Road and vice versa.

 

Hill Green Road, Stockbury, ME9 7UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hill Green Road, Stockbury, on or after 9th October 2025 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Old Vicarage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hill Green Road, Yelsted Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Cowstead Road, Bull Lane, Hill Green Road and vice versa.

 

New House Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New House Lane, Headcorn, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New House Lane, Water Lane, Moat Road, A274 North Street, A274 High Street, A274 Station Road, A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Biddenden Road, Bletchenden Road, Waterman Quarters, New House Lane and vice versa.

 

North Street, Barming, ME16 9FL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Barming, on or after 10th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Redstart Public House, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, Heath Road, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, North Street and vice versa.

 

Pilgrims Way, Detling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & NO LEFT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow footway extension works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Detling, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in one direction only at the left turn onto A249 Detling Hill, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Church Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road.

 

Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, Thurnham & Detling, ME17 1UP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow signage installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, Thurnham & Detling on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Upper Street and Queensway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic between Upper Street and Water Lane is via Upper Street, Eyhorne Street, A20 Ashford Road, Roundwell, Water Lane and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic between Water Lane and Thurnham Lane is via Water Lane, The Street, The Green, Ware Street, Thurnham Lane and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic between Thurnham Lane and Queensway is via Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, Hockers Lane, The Street, Princes Way, Queensway and vice versa.

 

Salts Lane, Loose, ME15 0BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Salts Lane, Loose, on or after 24th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Loose Viaduct. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Salts Lane, Old Loose Hill, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Hubbards Lane, Salts Lane and vice versa.

 

Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, ME14 2HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new gas connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 16. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Lane, Boxley Road, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Staceys Street, A229 Royal Engineers Road, Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane and vice versa.

 

South Street, Barming, ME16 9HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new gas service works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 38. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

The Weavers, Maidstone, ME16 0NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Weavers, Maidstone, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 16. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
