What is happening?
GORCHYMYN CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL PEN-Y-BONT AR OGWR (CAU LLWYBR TROED DROS DRO) (LLWYBR TROED 16 CASTELLNEWYDD UCHAF) 2025 RHODDIR HYSBYSIAD TRWY HYN fod y Cyngor fel yr Awdurdod Priffyrdd ar gyfer Castellnewydd Uchaf, wrth arfer ei bwerau dan Adran 14(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn mewn dim llai na 7 diwrnod o ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn, a fydd yn cau dros dro y llwybrau troed a nodir yn yr atodlen isod. Mae’r Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol er budd diogelwch y cyhoedd tra bod atgyweiriadau a drefnwyd yn cael eu cynnal yn y danffordd. Mae angen cau’r llwybr dros dro er mwyn diogelu’r cyhoedd ac i alluogi gwaith i gael ei wneud.
Atodlen - Y rhan honno o lwybr troed 16 Castellnewydd Uchaf - gan ddechrau wrth y gyffordd â Bridgend Road, o dan y rheilffordd i gyfeiriad cyffredinol y gorllewin am 24 metr. Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 23/10/2025 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym tan 25/10/2025, neu nes bydd y gwaith wedi’i gwblhau, am hyd at chwe mis. Fodd bynnag, bydd y cyfyngiad yn berthnasol dim ond ar adegau ac i’r graddau a ddangosir o bryd i’w gilydd ar arwyddion traffig a osodir gan Reoliadau a Chyfarwyddiadau Cyffredinol Arwyddion Traffig 2016. Y llwybr amgen yw trwy fynd tua’r gogledd ar hyd Bridgend Road, gan droi i’r gorllewin i Maesteg Road ac yna i’r de ar hyd y llwybr beicio ger UNED 3-4, Parc Manwerthu Pentre Felin, Tondu CF32 9GP ac i’r gwrthwyneb.

BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) (FOOTPATH 16 NEWCASTLE HIGHER) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council as the Highway Authority for Newcastle Higher in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make an Order which will temporarily close the footpaths set out in the schedule below. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety during planned repairs to the underpass. A temporary closure is needed to protect the public and to enable works to be undertaken.
Schedule - That section of Footpath 16 Newcastle Higher - commencing at its junction with Bridgend Road and proceeding under the railway line in a general westerly direction for 24 metres. The Order will come into force on the 23/10/2025 and will continue in force until 25/10/2025, or until such time as the
works are completed, for a maximum period of six months.
The restriction shall however only apply at such time and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. The alternative route is by proceeding north along Bridgend Road, turning west onto Maesteg Road and then south along cycle-track adjacent to UNIT 3-4, Pentre Felin Retail Park, Tondu CF32 9GP and vice versa.
