(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road, a 1 kilometre length of the C87 that extends east from its junction with B6278 to West Cot Farm and East Cote House Farm, Edmundbyers to enable new water main installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the western side of the closure from B6278 north easterly over Derwent Bridge then south on the unclassified road over Eddys Bridge to the junction with C87 north of Muggleswick to the eastern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 15/10/2025 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 43 calendar days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
