Willington - Temporary Road Closures due to Gas Main Replacement Works
What is happening?

(Burn Place, Hutton Terrace, High Street (Side) and Belle Vue Terrace (Side), Willington)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road.
Burn Place: A 64 metre length from the junction with A690 High Street extending southwards to the front of Number 9 Burn Place;
Hutton Terrace: A 76 metre length to the front of Numbers 1 to 11 Hutton Terrace and Numbers 1 to 14 Belle Vue Terrace;
High Street (Side): A 51 metre length from the junction with A690 High Street extending southwards to the side of Number 14 Belle Vue Terrace/Willington Prospect Club;
Belle Vue Terrace (Side): A 33 metre length from the side of Number 14 Belle Vue Terrace/Willington Prospect Club extending southwards to the side of Number 16 Belle Vue Terrace/1a Prospect Terrace to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken.
Throughout the period of the closure, any diversion to vehicular traffic will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Friday 10/10/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
