What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council,

(One-Way Traffic) (Norton Road, Norton-On-Derwent) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that we propose to make an Order under Sections 1(1) & 2(1) to (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along any length of road specified in column 1 of the following Schedule in a direction other than that specified in relation to that length of road in column 2 of that table.

Column 1 – Roads & Lengths of Road

Column 2 – Permitted Direction

Norton Road, Norton-on-Derwent, from its junction with the B1248, Castlegate, to a point 214 metres west of its junction with the B1248.

East to West.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the road affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Norton Library, 86 Commercial Street, Malton YO17 9ES during normal office hours from 24/09/25 until 16/10/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing, addressed to Area 4 Kirby Misperton Highways Office, Beansheaf Industrial Park, Tofts Road, Kirby Misperton, Malton, North Yorkshire YO17 6BG or by email to Area4.Kirbymisperton@northyorks.gov.uk via the website link above. by 16/10/25.
