ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Barrow Lane, Winford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 8 December 2025

Ref: SW25-26-159

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to lay new service to development. This order will become operative on the 8 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Footpath LA13/24/25, Nailsea, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 23 October 2025

Ref: SW25-26-161

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon development work by Taylor Wimpey. This order will become operative on the 23 October 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of at least 6 months in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in effect.

Littleton Lane, Winford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 16 December 2025

Ref: SW25.26-165

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for pole changes. This order will become operative on the 16 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Weston Road, Failand, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 7 October 2025

Ref: SW25.26-086

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate and lay new duct in carriageway, to provide service to customer. This order will become operative on the 7 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule – Weston Road from junction with Belmont Drive to between property numbers 25 and 27.

Station Road, Backwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 11 October 2025

Ref: SW25.26-138

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to carry out lead replacement with cut off. This order will become operative on the 11 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. The road is anticipated to be reopened by 7am on 13 October 2025. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
