Grainger Park Road Area - Prohibition Any Vehicles For Works

What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

(GRAINGER PARK ROAD AREA) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicular traffic to proceed on:

i. Grainger Park Road, for its entire length.

ii. Western Avenue (Southern junction) from its junction with Grainger Park Road for 19 meters in a westerly direction.

iii. Paignton Avenue, Clovelly Avenue and Clifton Road from each of their junctions with Grainger Park Road for 10 metres in a westerly direction.

iv. Clifton Road, from its junction with Grainger Park Road for 22 metres in a easterly direction.

2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.

3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the said works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.

5. The Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 27 January 2026 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
