What is happening?

(FOOTPATH NO. 403003 IN THE PARISH OF CLEATOR MOOR)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable resurfacing work to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 25m section of Public Footpath No. 403003 in the Parish of Cleator Moor, between grid references 301283 514641 and 301309 514627.
An alternative route for pedestrians will be available via the footway of Jacktrees Road, Footpath No. 403015 and Crossfield Road.

The Order will come into operation on 15 October 2025 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 6 weeks.
