Newcastle Upon Tyne - Prohibition All Traffic For Fenwick’s Window Reveal 2025
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(FENWICK’S WINDOW REVEAL 2025) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (vehicles, pedestrians, and other traffic) to proceed on -
a. Brunswick Place - its entire length,
b. Blackett Place - its entire length,
c. Northumberland Court - its entire length,
d. Northumberland Street- between Pilgrim Street/ Blackett Street and Saville Row, and
e. Lisle Street - from Northumberland Street eastwards for 25 metres.
2. Appropriate traffic management be in place during the closures.
3. 3. The Order is required in connection with Fenwick’s Window Reveal 2025 (“the Event”) and reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the Event.
The Order is required to allow the Event to be carried out safely on or near the highway and to ensure the health and safety of the public.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles and personnel on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 1 November 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 3 November 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
