London Borough of Southwark - Union Street - temporary parking restriction, temporary parking suspension

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK 
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) 
(UNION STREET)  
TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTION, TEMPORARY PARKING SUSPENSION 

1.    The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable crane works to be to be carried out by Simmons Industrial Services Ltd or it’s appointed contractor, it has made an order the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicles from stopping, waiting, loading and parking on a section of Union Street.
2.    The effect of the order is to prohibit vehicular traffic from parking, loading and waiting on Union Street, between Blackfriars Road and Gambia Street, on both sides of the road.
3.    The restriction will be in force on from 06:00 on Saturday 4th October 2025 to 20:00 on the 5th of October 2025.  If works do not go ahead on the 4th and 5th of October, the restriction will be in place from 06:00 on Saturday 11th October 2025 to 20:00 on the 12th of October 2025.
4.    The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
