London Borough of Southwark - Green Dragon Court, London Bridge staircase - temporary prohibition of pedestrians
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) (GREEN DRAGON COURT/LONDON BRIDGE STAIRCASE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable structural repair works to be carried out, it has made an order, the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from entering part of the above named footpath.
2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised signs are displayed, no person shall enter: Green Dragon Court Staircase/London Bridge Staircase, located between Green Dragon Court and Borough High Street.
3. The alternative routes for pedestrians will be via Borough High Street, Green Dragon Court (the underpass leading to market area).
4. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works.
5. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
6. The closure will be in operation on the following dates and at the following times:
23:00 on the 5th of October to 06:00 on the 6th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 6th of October to 06:00 on the 7th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 7th of October to 06:00 on the 8th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 12th of October to 06:00 on the 13th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 13th of October to 06:00 on the 14th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 14th of October to 06:00 on the 15th of October 2025,
23:00 on the 21st of October to 06:00 on the 22nd of October 2025,
23:00 on the 22nd of October to 06:00 on the 23rd of October 2025,
23:00 on the 23rd of October to 06:00 on the 24th of October 2025.
