Gateford Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving To Surfacing And Associated Lining Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(GATEFORD ROAD, WORKSOP)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (BS25-288)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Gateford Road, Worksop - From its junction with Windsor Road to its junction with Lady Walk
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 21:00 hours until 06:00 hours only
From Tuesday 30th September until Wednesday 8th October 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Ladywalk - A57 - Claylands Avenue - Gateford Road - A60 Turner Road - Carlton Road - Eddison Park Avenue - Ashes Park Avenue and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 30th September 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway planning, resurfacing, high friction surfacing and associated lining works;
